Toward Precision Mental Health with AI: Brain-Behavior Representations and Foundation Models [In-Person]
Event Details:
We’re pleased to share that the Tech Hub is co-hosting an in-person seminar with Stanford University's AI for Mental Health (AI4MH) initiative on August 26th from 11:30am-1pm PT. This will be an in-person event at the Clark Center (S360) on the Stanford campus, featuring Dr. Yu Zhang, PhD, titled "Toward Precision Mental Health with AI: Brain-Behavior Representations and Foundation Models.”
Mental disorders are highly heterogeneous and often comorbid, challenging conventional diagnosis and individualized treatment. Dr. Zhang will present recent work on dimensional brain-behavior frameworks that use contrastive machine learning to identify neurobiological markers and transdiagnostic subtypes from large-scale neuroimaging data. He will also introduce a brain graph foundation model that integrates graph transformer pretraining with prompt-based adaptation to generalize across brain atlases, disorders, datasets, and tasks. Together, these advances highlight the potential of representation learning for precision mental health, supporting improved diagnosis and prognosis.
About the speaker: Dr. Yu Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine and leads the Stanford Precision Neurolntelligence Lab. His research combines Al, translational neuroscience, and precision medicine to develop biomarkers for mental disorders and advance precision mental health. His work has appeared in leading journals, including Nature Bio medical Engineering, Nature Mental Health, Nature Human Behaviour, and Nature Biotechnology.
CME credits: You may be eligible to receive CME credits for attending this Hubinar. More information will be provided at the start of the event. If you have questions, please reach out to the Tech Hub (techhub-psychiatry@stanford.edu).
