Q&A with Psychiatry Grand Rounds speaker, Dr. Stephen Schueller, PhD
Event Details:
The Tech Hub is honored to host Dr. Stephen Schueller, PhD, from UC Irvine for an intimate Q&A session on April 9th, 12-1pm PT. This conversation will build on the insights from his Grand Rounds talk (on 3/20), “Using technology to scale mental health: A focus on digital mental health interventions.” This will be a great opportunity to engage with Dr. Schueller and ask questions about his work in a more conversational setting. Come with your questions or email them in advance to Pippa Kennard (pippa@stanford.edu).
Summary of Dr. Schueller’s Grand Rounds talk: Considerable evidence has suggested that digital mental health interventions are effective, especially for common mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and sleep. However, these interventions face considerable challenges to uptake and implementation. In this talk, Dr. Schueller will summarize the current state of digital mental health interventions and provide examples of projects focused on their dissemination and implementationwith a focus on delivering effective and scalable options. The impact of digital mental health requires not just effective interventions, but strategies to help put these tools into the hands of people who need them.
